Tír Na nÓg
Tír Na nÓg, (the land of the ever young/land of perpetual youth) is an
otherworld in Irish mythology. It was a place that could not be found on a map but was said to be an island very far to the West. It could only be reached by either a difficult long sea voyage or by being taken to it by one of its people.
The Isle was visited by various travellers in the Voyage tales of the early Christian Irish Saints and was said to be an earthly paradise populated by supernatural beings. When the Irish Gods, the Tuatha Dé Danann, departed Ireland they settled there.
